Faerieworlds 2010 costume designs

I am indeed attending Faerieworlds 2010. (if you havn't heard about this festival, see info here: http://www.faerieworlds.com/ ) I am inner circle camping with 2 of my friends this year (we've already got our tickets) and i'm working hard on my costumes!

Heres a rundown on my costumes for Faerieworlds 2010:

Day 1 (good faeries): Merrow.

I am going as a merrow/selkie mix. They are both mermaidy type creatures, but both are known for comming OUT of the water in a human form. Heres my design:

The costume is in progress... the hairfalls, earfins, and some of the jewelry is done. All the light grey areas on the design are a silver velvet i have that reminds me of sealskin, except the legs, which im hoping to get metalic silver leggings for. =) (the greengrey sprayed arm things are drapey pieces attached at the neck and arms) its all to be in natural seafoams, greens, blues, greys, and coral reds.

Day 2 (bad faeries): Jareth the goblin king

I wore this one last year, and will wear it again this year. (though i'm going to tighten the vest, and tweak the cloak... maybe make a new shirt) Heres a photo (posing with the goblins from Goblin Road):

Day 3: pirate

The more i wanna do steampunk... the more i actually wanna go for an airship captain hook look... (hook from the 2003 live action peter pan. ooooo sexy.) Heres my basic design for it.... i already finished the skullcap/headscarf and the hipscarf. ive got the vinyl leggings and knee stilleto boots (wore em last year for my pirate costume), im trying to get a corset. Ive got my hat, and im working on making the coat. =D

Its bad. lol I LOVE Jareth the goblin king (*coughBowiecough*) and I love the Jason Isaacs Captian hook.... They are both oh so sexy. =P Cant have em, so might as well dress like em eh?

  1. Speaking of Bowie, I watched the credits of Arthur and the Invisiables last night just so I could freak out when his name showed up on screen. XD
